Finnish Internet Forum 2011

The Finnish Internet Forum 2011 will be held on October 18th and 19th at Kuntatalo, Helsinki. The event will be opened by the Minister of Housing and Communications. The first day of the event will be in English and the second day in Finnish. Participation is open to everyone free of charge.

The main organizers are the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Transport and Communications, Internet Society Finland and The Finnish Information Society Development Centre (TIEKE).

Internet, demokratia ja osallistuminen - keskustelutilaisuus lauantaina 2.4. klo 14

Finnish Internet Forum ja maailma.net / Suomen OneWorld -portaaliyhdistys järjestävät keskustelutilaisuuden 'Internet, demokratia ja osallistuminen' osana Sosiaalifoorumi 2011 -tapahtumaa. Seminaarissa arvioidaan internetin mahdollisuuksia demokratian ja kansalaisosallistumisen edistämiseksi.

Järjestyksessään 10. Suomen sosiaalifoorumi käynnistyy lauantaina 2.4. klo 10 Arbiksella, Dagmarinkatu 3, Helsinki.

20. - 21.9.2010 Eduskunnan uuden lisärakennuksen auditoriossa järjestettävään Finnish Internet Forumiin on saapumassa noin 150 kansainvälistä ja kotimaista osallistujaa. Tilaisuus on kutsupohjainen ja maksimiosallistujamäärä on täynnä. Tilaisuutta voi kuitenkin seurata suorana verkkolähetyksenä.

Frederic Donck, Euroopan aluetoimiston johtaja, on vahvistanut tulevansa osallistumaan Finnish Internet Forumiin.

Frederick Donckilla on vahva kokemus ja osaaminen televiestinnän ja internetin eri osa-aluiella. Aiempaa työkokemusta on karttunut niin Euroopan Komissiosta, Belgacom Groupista, sekä Executive Board of the European Association of Telecom Operatorsin (ETNO) johtokunnasta.

Frederic Donck, Director of the European Regional Bureau, has confirmed his presence at the Finnish Internet Forum.

Mr. Donck has vast experience in the telecommunications and Internet industry. Mr. Donck has previously worked for the European Commission, the Belgacom Group, as well as the Executive Board of the European Association of Telecom Operators (ETNO).

An additional two international experts have confirmed their attendance at the Finnish Internet Forum 2010: Mr. Chris Disspain is a Chief Executive Officer of the .au Domain Administration Ltd. and Chair of ICANN's country code Names Supporting Organisation (ccNSO), and Mr. Lee Hibbard is a Coordinator for Internet Governance and Information Society at the Council of Europe.
